Some thoughts on today’s digital world and Internet marketing.

We live in a time when more and more businesses realize that if they want to get into business, or even stay in business, and even achieve further success, they must move into today’s digital world. The best and only way to accomplish this goal is for entrepreneurs to become familiar with Internet marketing, also known as online marketing. Therefore, in today’s world, it is not only important but essential and indispensable to have a guide to internet marketing that an entrepreneur can follow to ensure success, whatever the business.

Note: “Internet marketing” and “online marketing” are often used interchangeably to refer to the same concept. Both terms encompass the marketing strategies and tactics used to promote productivity when more and more businesses realize that if they want to get into business, or even stay in business, and even achieve further success, they must use services through digital channels on the Internet.

First, what is online marketing?

In very simple terms, online marketing is nothing more than effective, product-oriented Internet advertising, also known as e-marketing and e-commerce. The benefits of following this method are more than affordable, its application is highly effective and a great way to take your small business to the next level. Online marketing also includes digital marketing.

However, internet marketing is not just for the local hotel, or perhaps the local restaurant, local convenience store, etc. As I mentioned earlier, internet marketing is an umbrella term because it is used by digital marketers, network marketers, entrepreneurs, home business owners, and anyone else who wants to get their company’s name out quickly and effectively to anyone without geographical barriers, really anywhere, anytime, anywhere in the world.
In short, online marketing covers quite a lot of ground. In more detail, unlike traditional marketing, it is not only a matter of using the marketing skills that we are used to and have used in the past, but also of using our digital skills to a masterly level to achieve the expected success.
It may sound daunting at first to consider the wide range of knowledge required in this area. But don’t despair: if you set your sights on what you want to achieve and find the right tools, it won’t seem so difficult, and it will be much easier to achieve the results you want and, thus, success.

Hence the following benefits of online marketing:

* Retention of old customers, recruitment of new customers:

Other benefits of online marketing include attracting new customers through electronic newsletters and informing and reminding existing customers in real-time (i.e., without delay) about your services and products and any changes. Accordingly, it also makes promoting new services and products easier at a fraction of the cost of sending out flyers or traditional newsletters.

* A measurable reduction in costs:

Properly applying the previous principles leads us to the next important benefit of Internet marketing, which is by no means negligible and indeed very important for running a business efficiently: reducing overheads.

A bit of history: you’ve probably heard of this or remember the days when there were boxes of leaflets lying around the office, or worse, all over the house. If the local Post Office did not deliver these leaflets, they were certainly distributed and delivered by university students or people in need at the time. At the time, this method not only seemed like a cost-effective solution, it was.
Back then, another way to remind your customers about your products or services was to contact them directly by landline (since mobile phones only started to become common in the 90s), personal phone call, or business letter (which is the slowest). Although this method was relatively inexpensive in its time, it consumed considerable time and human resources compared to today’s tools. I won’t analyze television or radio advertising here, because it belongs to a different marketing genre.

Although some retailers still distribute similar brochures and newsletters, the effective use of Internet marketing has made this largely a thing of the past. It is not entirely a thing of the past because there will always be people (especially those who are still wary of new things, specifically the digital world, or who do not want to learn about it at all) who will be the aforementioned,
traditional ways of finding out what’s new.

In today’s digital landscape, online marketing offers many tangible benefits for businesses. Through targeted strategies such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email campaigns, and content creation, companies can enhance their visibility, reach their target audience more effectively, and drive measurable results. These efforts translate into increased website traffic, higher conversion rates, improved brand awareness, and, ultimately, greater revenue generation. Moreover, online marketing allows for precise tracking and analysis of key performance metrics, enabling businesses to refine their approaches and optimize their marketing efforts for maximum impact. In essence, embracing online marketing in the digital world empowers businesses to thrive in a competitive marketplace and build lasting connections with their audience.
